Maruta Pond Park
Located in the center of the former Maebaru City’s urban district, Maruta Pond had been used as a farming reservoir before it was overhauled to create a park. The park features the “Maruta Pond Recreation Trail”, which circles the pond and is loved by locals as a walking trail along which seasonal flowers bloom. There is also seesaw, slide, and other play equipment geared towards children!
About 500 irises have been planted by the pond, and the best time to see them in full bloom is early June. Maruta Pond Park also plays host to a local festival, outdoor concerts, and a flea market.
