Nokonoshima Island

Nokonoshima Island is shaped like an eggplant, elongated from north to south in Hakata Bay. It is close to the urban area and many people visit the island for fishing, swimming, hiking, and insect collecting. Moreover, the island has plenty of places where visitors can enjoy a stroll, such as the “Shizen Tanshoro” nature watching route and a serene forest, Shisaku no Mori. A panoramic view can be seen from the 195-meter (640-foot) high peak of the mountain. Nokonoshima Island Park is a nature park located on the northern part of the island where visiors can relax and enjoy blooming flowers during any season, such as cherry blossom, field mustard and azalea in the Spring and cosmea in the Fall.
