Held biannually in the spring (May 3 – 5) and fall (the three-day weekend which includes the second Monday of October) every year in Toho Village, the Koishiwara Pottery Festival is a 400-year-old tradition. It is a sales exhibition pottery festival that pottery lovers from all over the country look forward to, and the festival takes place with great enthusiasm on the part of the villagers! A huge amount of discounted pottery is lined up for sale in front of each studio.
In addition, crops and fruits are sold and pottery making demonstration and workshop take place. During the festival, many pottery fans visit there from all over Japan. Since extra buses run from Tenjin and Hakata, why not visit there at ease?
