Autumn Festival at Miyajidake Shrine

An autumn thanksgiving festival for a blessing of abundant crops. The ritualistic Massive Procession has been performed for about 600 years, stemming from the belief that the gods had lined up and watched over the fields from which crops came to head.
The main event of the three-day festival is the Massive Procession during the “Shinkosai (transport of gods)” where participants dress up like figures in a Heian picture scroll. Don’t miss the chance to view the gorgeous procession on its round-trip Shinkosai (divided between the first and third days).
After the end of the procession, a famous female singer (who volunteers to particpate in the procession as well) plays the part of the Festival Queen in a singing show on a specially constructed stage. There is also a fireworks display and various other events to enjoy!

This event has finished.
