Himawari (Sunflower) Fair

About 160 thousand sunflowers are planted in the roughly 1.6 hectare (4 acre) garden that spreads out in front of Michi no Eki “Harazuru” Roadside Station. These sunflowers bloom later than typical sunflowers, making mid- to late September the best time to see them.
Harazuru Roadside Station holds a nearly week-long Himawari (Sunflower) Fair to coincide with the blooming season, where visitors can buy cut sunflowers or specialties from the Haki region at the “Fureai Market”. The garden bustles with visitors from nearby and far away!
