Ino River runs between Ino in Hisayama and Yamada. The water is as clean as it was years ago, drawing a herd of fireflies upstream in the Ino region from late May to early June every year. Many families with children visit Inokodai Shrine and the nearby stream to cool down in the stream during the summer. Being that it’s only a 30 minute-ride from downtown Fukuoka City, it has become a popular nourishment spot for many. Cherry blossoms in spring and foliage in fall in the region are also something to be admired.
