Konomien

Konomien is a long-established tea wholesaler with a 146 year old history. The nationally famous name, Yame Tea was named by the store’s third owner, Hisakichi Konomi, 86 years ago.
Since the richness of tea depends on the blend, the role of the wholesaler is extremely important. As implied by the word, “One wholesaler does a better job than three engineers”, it is not an exaggeration to say that the wholesaler’s skill determines the tea flavor. At Konomien, since the generation of the present owner, Kenichi Konomi, persons with skills and knowledge have passed down the traditional flavor. Thinking of the history, have the slightly sweet and rich choice tea! Even now the quaint stately store remains. A gallery was built next to the store, and the Haikenba which is a place for the tea tasting can be seen there.
