In this festival, you can enjoy beautiful Shobu (Iris) flowers of one million stumps.　Various types of Shobu flowers are in bloom all over the jinja (shrine) precinct and it is the largest scale in Kyushu area.　On May 31st, a shrine ritual called ”Edo Shobu Hatsugari Shinji”takes place at 10:00AM.　You can see shrine maidens dancing gracefully holding Shobu flowers.　There are other events of music concert and traditional folk craft display, and local gourmets.　A part of the precinct is lit up until 21:00 PM, so that you can enjoy its bloom even in the night time.
