Kokura Castle and the Cherry Trees of Katsuyama Park

Spreading wide beyond Kokura Castle, Katsuyama Park is the staple place of peace and rest for Kitakyushu City citizens. Some 300 cherries blossom here in the spring time, alarming the coming of season for the city’s renowned Kokura Castle Sakura Festival. The castle and the trees light up at night, attracting tons of visitors for a rare view of Kokura’s symbolic fortress park.
