Mt. Hiko’s scenic ”Hanami-ga-iwa”
This is a recommended viewing spot where you can enjoy a panorama of Mt. Hiko with just a 5 minute walk from Bessho parking lot. To the south you can gaze at the compartmentalized townscape of historic Hikosan which spreads beneath your very eyes. During the cherry blossom season the entire town appears buried within cherry blossoms; the splendid views here have garnered this rock the perfectly-suited name of ’Hanami-ga-iwa’ (flower-viewing-rock.) Once the cherry blossom season has passed, you can also enjoy magnificent views of the rice planting/green paddy seasons and the autumn leaves period.
